Here are a few words we should use instead of love:
lust after, honor, afraid of, like, need, depend on, and wish I had.
See, the things these words all have in common is they are verbs. God said "I am love" therfore, love is not a verb it is a noun. In the scripture you shared it read, "if I do not have love". A verb cannot be "had" it can only do.
